Old Chelsea Market Coordinator

Part time contract

Marché Old Chelsea Market is looking for a non-vendor to help oversee the 2019 season. 
The Coordinator will work closely with the market committee to organize and run market operations throughout the season.

Description of tasks:

• Coordinate each week’s vendors (placement of booth and confirmation of attendance for casual and part-time vendors);
• Point of contact for questions/complaints from vendors, visitors and resentatives of La Fab (our host). Questions can be forwarded to the market committee for assistance when response is unknown;
• Set up and take down temporary market signs throughout Chelsea village on the day of market;
• With the help of full-time vendors, set-up and take down tables, umbrellas, and garbage/recycle on the day of market;
• Schedule and communicate with musicians and community tables;  
• Post regular updates/advertisements on Facebook/Instagram throughout the market season; and
• Other relevant duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bilingual (French & English);
• Ability to communicate effectively, in a professional manner, both in person and by email;
• Good organization and time management skills with ability to work independently;
• Willingness to represent the market when approached by local media; and
• Team player with desire to contribute to the Chelsea community.

Hours/Compensation:

• $100/week, (average of 5hrs/wk) for a total of $2,100.
• Work hours: Thursdays 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm, plus 1 hr of responding to emails spread throughout the week.
